Easy to master, our fluid art tutorial shows you how it will help you achieve brilliant colour effects on your canvas.

Watch as Hobbycraft Artisan and artist Aimee Gray demonstrates the swipe technique in a few steps. It involves applying your paint directly onto your canvas, adding silicone oil to one side and dragging a sheet of paper down to mix the colours together. They’re sure to combine in unique, creative ways that give you an incredible finish and your silicone oil will create cells.

You’ll need pre-mixed colours (acrylic paint and pouring medium), silicone oil and paper, as well as your canvas to craft along! This is a great way to experiment with colour as you begin to master fluid art.
