First Time Using a Catalyst Wedge! In this video, I dive into a brand new tool: the Princeton catalyst wedge. I've never used one before, so this is a totally unscripted, intuitive painting session on an 18"x18" canvas.

I start by laying down a base of paints and then jump straight into experimenting with the wedge—just moving the paint around, getting a feel for how it handles, and letting the tool guide me. I follow up with some brushwork to soften and blend the edges, then let the painting dry slightly before coming back in with the wedge for another round of texture and movement.

To add some excitement to my blue-green palette, I introduce a pop of fluorescent green, and finally, I finish the piece off with some swooping white highlights for contrast and flow.

No rules, just creativity.
Not too bad for a first attempt!

-18"x18" canvas
-Catalyst wedge No 1
-Acrylic paints (Prussian Phthalo Blue, Turquoise Blue, Phthalo Green, Fluoro Acrylic Green, Titanium White)
-Soft blending brush
