ABOUT EAST KENNETT
East Kennett is a small village in the Vale of Pewsey, located in the heart of Wiltshire. Its history dates back to Roman times, with evidence of settlement and agriculture in the area. The village’s name likely comes from the Old English “cyning’s hytt”, meaning “king’s hut, reflecting its early roots as a rural community.

The village is famous for its proximity to Silbury Hill and Avebury, two of the most important prehistoric sites in the UK. Avebury is a massive Neolithic stone circle, and Silbury Hill is the largest man-made mound in Europe, both of which are just a short walk from East Kennett.

East Kennett is a quintessential English village, with thatched cottages, stone houses, and farms surrounded by rolling fields and ancient woodlands. It remains a peaceful, agricultural village, where life is slow and calm, much like it has been for centuries. The thatched roofs and horse-filled paddocks add to the idyllic atmosphere that makes it a perfect spot to enjoy autumn’s quiet beauty.
