WR #22: Daniel and the Lion

DatL is from Baraboo, and so are we. We go back, as they say. In an indirect way, they started our band for us. Follow me here: Jimmie Linville, who plays and sings into the microphone for DatL, taught me how to play Magic The Gathering in high school. Once he felt I had sufficient fundamentals to play "strangers" he took me out to the Dragon's Den, our local gaming shop in Baraboo circa 2003. The first "stranger" I played was a man named Gabriel Riviere. Gabe won. Almost 10 years later, he asked me if my band would play a show at our community college. I said sure. But who's my band? We discovered who we were, the members that is, and once we had sufficient fundamentals we took a show playing in Madison. Mr. Linville had booked a show at a DIY space in Madison covering Bon Iver, Bon Iver in its entirety. So, yeah, we've basically been playing together for a while. Playing, of course, being the operative word. yup.
