Durable stuff like signs, tins and glassware were made by the thousands and used for many years. But the annual Hamm’s sales catalogs came out on a yearly basis. Once the new one arrived, the last year‘s stuff got pitched. That’s what makes this surviving sales catalog such a gem in our collecting world.
You can definitively see when certain signs and point of sale materials were current in the 1961 market.

This scenic outer binder was obtained from North Shore Distributing in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. (I have Paul to thank for this gem) His Dad’s historical Hamm’s sandwich protects and preserves the delicious documentation saved by Chris Sauro, a 50 year Hamms employee that kept some amazing historical stuff. You’ve heard the term, “the guy that never threw anything away?” That was Chris, God bless him for it. 

He kept the daily driver log and delivery addresses for his route. Along with the other Saint Paul salesmen and each day’s deliveries. You’ll also see the 1974 sales catalog and various other marketing materials.
