This is a 20 minute loop of the original and current version of the Southeast Asia audio in it's a small world at Disneyland. This audio originated at the New York World's Fair 60 years ago in 1964-65. In 1966 the ride found a permanent home at Disneyland, California, where it remains today. It has since been found at Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, and Hong Kong Disneyland. It was also removed from Disneyland between 1993 and 2003, and has been restored since then. Because I am most obsessed with the Disneyland version, this video has pictures of that version. This section features a few aspects of Southeast Asian culture, such as a tiger, detailed golden outfits on the children, and a many armed Goddess. Like the rest of the ride, the section is extremely vibrantly colored and the many audio animatronic children, tiger, and the Goddess effects give it awesome kinetic energy. The instrumentals also use traditional instruments of the region. I really love the creativity that was put into this scene by Mary Blair, Alice and Marc Davis. Mary designed the scene, Alice created the costumes and Marc created the animals. As always they did a great job blending it into the Asia room while retaining things that are more specifically tied to this region of the continent. The many rotating pictures are shown in chronological order from 1964 through 2024. Ones before 2009 were found at various internet sources. The 2009 image is by my parents and 2022-2024 by me.
