Here in Portland, Oregon, the "Winter Wet" (not the cold) is the biggest problem of any PNW garden in my opinion. Have you lost plants over winter? We all have. These tips can make the difference in live or die for your perennials. The main thing is – cut down as little as possible – this will protect from winter sogginess, result in fewer weeds, and is good for wildlife. But... there are some things you must cut down.
