60 SECOND VLOG: Why Is Science A Progressives Issue? (At Perot Museum)

Hi everyone! We’re here at Dallas, Texas - at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. Now, this museum was built by a guy named Ross Perot, who was very heavily involved in politics - he was actually a conservative, in Texas. And, it made me realize that there are conservatives that build science museums, and that truly believe in the value of the scientific method. It made me wonder how it is, that we have managed to get to where we are now, where science is very heavily associated with progressives and democrats. And not seen at all as something that republicans should be involved in. And that’s actually really damaging for science, especially given the current political climate. So how can we get back to how it used to be, where science wasn’t considered a partisan issue… it was just the search for truth. I don’t have any easy answers - but I’d love to know if you do.
