The Election Commission of India has directed the transfer of Maharashtra's Director General of Police, Rashmi Shukla, following complaints from the Indian National Congress (INC) and other parties. The Chief Secretary has been asked to submit a list of three senior IPS officers by 1 pm on November 5 for consideration as Shukla’s replacement. The move aims to maintain neutrality and fairness during the electoral process. The Election Commission is reviewing these recommendations to form a panel for the new DGP appointment.
