Hi, I'm Paul Simkins with your Ah-Ha! Moment of the Week.

You may not like to hear this, but we are all weird. We all have our quirks, we all have our idiosyncratic behaviors that make us to some people to be a little bit weird. In fact, Seth Godin wrote a book with the title We Are All Weird. And part of what he talks about is not so much that we are weird but that we all have our own uniqueness.

And that's the great thing about it. It's what makes us stand out from everyone else, the fact that we are unique. So what we need to do is embrace that a little bit.

Dr. Suess said years ago "I am weird. You are weird. Everyone in the world is weird. One day two people come together in mutual weirdness and fall in love."

So we actually want to embrace the weirdness that is us because it makes us unique; it makes us stand out. And it helps us have an impact on the world.

So think about how you are you alone and how you can share that with the world. What is unique about you that you can share with the world? Apply your own evaluation to things that you do before asking for the opinions of others because it will help you keep that unique perspective that you have. And then try to explain things to others as you would explain them to yourself. That again is going to help you embrace that weirdness and keep that uniqueness that is really you. And help you connect better with people as a result.
