Glulam Structure Pt.3 - Secondary beam assembly

Next part of Large glulam structure assembly I'm working on. Most difficult part of the project is finally complete. It took us almost two months for the secondary beams. There was no more heavy crane access so we had to improvise with a home made, adjustable lifting hoist with a truck winch. Each element was first lifted onto position so centers of holes could be marked. After marking, piece was lowered and holes were drilled using a jig so they are perfectly perpendicular to the surface. slits for the steel were adjusted if they were crooked using a chainsaw and marks were marked for position of upstands which will hold the air cushions later on.. After all that, each piece was lifted to it's final position and fastened using stainless steel pins. After each lift, the hoist was moved to the next position. We were lifting 3-4 pieces a day on average weighing up to 500 kg.
