The release of the crime statistics by Police Minister Bheki Cele this week left the country reeling and numb with shock. 57 people are killed everyday. And this morning, we are looking at some of the contributing factors trying to sense of why are we such an angry society. One of those factors is poverty and inequality. South Africa is said to have moved from being one of the countries with the highest number of inequality, to be the most unequal society. According to the World Bank, the country has the "highest polarised index in the world", with the highest inequality in terms of wealth distribution.
