Mixed Media Sketchbook Exercise That Will Help You Understand How Wet Your Paper Should Be!

I think someday I am going to have to try my hand at glass blowing. I love the vibrancy of colors and how they play with the light. I encountered this stained glass piece in Barcelona and it's one of the patterns I haven't been able to stop thinking about!

The reflection of light is going to be your friend in helping to identify how wet the page is. To have colors stay more or less where you put them but also soften you'll want the paper to be just a tiny bit shiny, but more matte and be able to see the texture of the paper clearly. In an exercise like this it's the perfect time to experiment and you can always go back and try again if you didn't have it at the right timing. This can be difficult to get the hang of, but I promise it gets easier with practice!

In this video I used:

-some acrylic craft paint
