Austrian Railway Signalling - Explained!

Описание к видео Austrian Railway Signalling - Explained!

An explanation of the main type of railway signalling used in the country of Austria. Most European countries have their own signalling systems, despite the large number of through-running trains - meaning many drivers would need to learn multiple systems. The Austrian system is very similar to the Swiss (and less so, German) system, but is a bit simpler. This video is made using still photographs I took in Austria in 2017.

Please note that I have made this video as a hobby only, and while every attempt has been made to provide correct information, I am not an expert and do not work for the railways. I also live on the other side of the world and only speak English, so there is a slight risk of some information lost in translation. This video is a general guide only, and does not attempt to explain every possible aspect, signal type or situation. Any corrections will be noted at the bottom of this description.

I have made several other videos on signalling systems from around the world, you can see the full list here:    • Railway Signalling Explainers
