Claremont Road anti-M11 occupation

Описание к видео Claremont Road anti-M11 occupation

Claremont Road was a row of terraced houses in East London, which was due to be demolished as part of the construction of the M11 motorway. The houses in the street were occupied by residents and protestors who were opposed to the road and demolition of the community.

The houses were eventually cleared in December 1994 after what was then the longest eviction in post-war European history at an estimated cost of £1,014,060.
