Compassionate Diwali: A Day of Joy and Giving | Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore

Our first-year BA and MA students of the Department of Mass Communication at Amrita Viswa Vidhyapeetham, Ettimadai, recently embarked on a heartwarming journey of compassion. As part of the Mastery Over Mind course, they visited Mathipalayam Senior Citizens Home on October 29th, 2024, to celebrate Diwali with the elderly residents. There, they engaged the elderly residents with lively dance performances, melodic songs, and fun-filled games. The students also provided essential items (clothes, cleaning supplies, adult diapers, etc.) to further enhance their comfort. Additionally, they distributed sweet treats and fresh fruits, spreading the joy of Diwali among the residents. The elderly were so touched by the students’ kindness that they wished to spend more time with them. This experience was a testament to the power of compassion and the positive impact young minds can make on the lives of others.
