Rode NT-5 Matched Pair first impressions

First attempt to record with these mics in a stereo/spaced pair configuration.

Was going for a soaked/swimming in reverb spacy tone :) .. The Rode Nt-5 mikes are going direct to a small Alesis mixer, no eq, using the built-in reverb, and then straight to the camera. I'm trying to create a modest Youtube recording setup that doesn't involve a DAW, thus being fast and easy to use in shooting videos..

..well, after some positioning experimentation i learned a few things.

1. Don't let friends borrow my Lexicon reverb :)
2. It's going to need some work to get these mics to sound decent.. :( .. or maybe i just don't like them ?? :)
3. I need better headphones!! and maybe a dedicated 2 channel preamp
4. I can see this trebly/hyped high frequency sound character working great when recording something that tries to stand out in a full band mix, and also the modern fingerstyle sound approach that uses it, and Taylors ARE bright guitars, but .... where has all the bass of my great sounding 810 gone????? :) ..aahh, maybe i prefer an LDC mic after all...

..guess i 'll keep trying..
