On 2nd August 1973 a fire engulfed the Summerland leisure complex on the Isle of Man, claiming the lives of 50 people. The Summerland Story shares the experiences of the islanders and holidaymakers caught up in the fire and the emergency responders who fought to save them. This in-depth examination also looks back to events before the fire, analysing the complex chain of decisions and mistakes that led up to the fateful day, only two years after the building's opening.
