A visit to Caldey Island from Tenby in August 1999 on the "Star Queen" and "Caldey Abbey II"

Описание к видео A visit to Caldey Island from Tenby in August 1999 on the "Star Queen" and "Caldey Abbey II"

The trip to Caldey Island begins as our ferry boat "Star Queen" passes St. Catherine's Island having just left the mobile jetty at Tenby Castle Beach which is used for boarding when the tide is low. We disembark at the concrete slipway on Caldey and see one of the Alvis Stalwart six-wheeled vehicles that will play a key part in our journey back to Tenby. When we return to the slipway later the tide is very low and it is not possible to board the return ferry boat from the slipway. Instead we board one of the six-wheeled vehicles which then drives across the flat sand until there is sufficient water for our return ferry to moor alongside. We then transfer from the Alvis Stalwart to the "Caldey Abbey II" and return journey to the Castle Beach jetty at Tenby.
