Описание к видео Talakadu

Vaidyanatheshwara temple of the yore, being restored and retained by Archeological Survey of India. Talakadu is a historical place 130Kms from Bengalooru in Mysore district.

Whole place is covered by sand, and as much you dig it, you will get a nice big temple, palace or a house from the yore.

This is in response to your query on the video that I shared.

Talakadu is a historical place, situated in Mysore district of Karnataka. Its about 130Kms from Bengalooru.

If you are driving from the city, you need to take the following road :
Bengalooru - Kengeri - Bidadi - Channapattana - Maddur - (deviation towards MM Hills)Malavalli - (deviation towards T Narasipura)Talakadu.

The temple in the video is one of the 5 important shrines of Talakadu village. The village which is situated on the banks of river Kaveri, is totally covered by sand. You can actually distinguish the sand that covers the village with that found on the river banks. They are different.

Legend says that the village, once a capital of some ruling dynasty, was covered with sand when the queen gave "shaapa" to Mysore emperor.

Even today,ASI is digging thru the sands and many temples, palaces etc are found underneath. Its a nice weekend get-away from Bengalooru.

You can even visit Gaganachukki-Bharachukki(Kaveri waterfalls) and Somanathapura alongside Talakadu. A visit worth it.
