Gilme(길미) _ Like a Fool(내가 먼저) (Feat. Eun ji won) MV

Since her single released in 2010 [Like a Fool] followed by her performances as the hip hop team Clover with Eun Ji-Won and Mister Tyfoon, Gilme is back this July in 2 years with a solo album.

Released as a digital album, the single cut song [Me First] is an R&B of a medium tempo groove, with realistic lyrics that describe how one will dump their lover although they are still in love in order to avoid getting dumped first, also featuring an attractive chorus with the phrase "me first" repeating itself.

Gilme who had previously presented powerful rapping and vocal skills, raps and sings in a comfortable and emotional style with her unique voice tone. Eun Ji-Won -- the leader of Clover and head of GIlme's agency -- took part in producing the song, doubled for the chorus of the entire song, and added to the rapping, contributing to the song's perfection.

Amidst a somewhat gloomy reality in which it has become the rule of thumb that idol groups take over the charts, we have high hopes that there may be a fresh turn of events showing the diversity and potential of Korean music to the K-pop market.

2010年にリリースしたシングル「バカみたいになによ」以来、ウン・ジウォン、ミスタータイフーンと共にヒップホップチーム'クローバー'の活動に専念してきたギルミが、2年ぶりにソロアルバムで7月歌謡界のドアを叩く。

デジタルアルバムとしてリリースされる今回のシングル・アルバム「私が先に」は、ミディアム・テンポのグルーヴが生きているR＆B曲だ。恋人を愛してはいるけどふられる前に自分から先にふろうという内容の状況や場面が生きている歌詞と'私が先に'が繰り返され耳に残るリフレーンが魅力的な曲だ。

普段強烈なラップとボーカルを見せていたギルミが、以前の作品とは違って独特のボイスでソフトで感性的な歌唱法で歌とラップを歌っている。プロデュースに参加した所属事務所の社長であり、クローバーのリーダー、ウン・ジウォンが歌の全般にかけたコーラスとダブリングに合わせラップのフィーチャリングを行って曲の完成度を高めた。

アイドルがチャートを占領している最近のk-pop市場に、歌謡の多様性と可能性を示す新鮮な大異変が起きることを期待してみる。

힙합 혼성팀 '클로버'활동 전념해 온 길미가 너무나 오랜만인 2년만의 솔로앨범으로
7월 가요계의 문을 두드린다.

디지털앨범으로 발매되는 이번 앨범의 싱글컷된 [내가 먼저]라는 곡은 미디움템포의
그루브가 살아있는 알앤비곡이며, 연인을 아직은 사랑하지만 상대방에게 차이기전에
내가 먼저 차겠다는 내용으로 상황과 장면이 살아있는 가사내용과 내가 먼저가 반복되어
귀에 맴도는 후렴구가 매력적인 곡이다.

이에 평소 강렬한 랩핑과 보컬을 보여줬던 길미가 이전의 작업물들 과는 달리
특유의 보이스로 풀어낸 편안하면서도 감성적인 창법으로 노래와 랩을 하고,
프로듀싱에 참여한 소속사 사장님이자 클로버의 리더인 은지원이 노래 전반에 걸친
코러스와 더블링에 입을 맞추고 깨알같은 랩핑을 더해 노래의 완성도을 높였다.

아이돌의 차트점령이 대세일반론인 씁쓸한 k-pop시장 속에서 가요의 다양성과 가능성을
보여줄 수 있는 신선한 대이변이 일어나지 않을까 기대해본다.
