Our viewpoint flows down the river of time, with the intervals between observed "manifestations" being roughly one thousand years. With the dawning of each new era, the mists of ignorance & darkness retreat. At each juncture a "temple" is raised, representing both the divinely-chosen Person founding this faith and the faith itself. Disciples scatter into the world, dispersing the Message. Each dispensation flourishes for its own historical span. Eventually its light diminishes, and the world grows dark again, awaiting the next cycle.
