King County Sheriff Detective Shot in Seattle While Serving Eviction

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 3-20-2023 0930
LOCATION: 801 NW 54th St
CITY: Seattle
DETAILS:

3 Deputies including a detective were at the apartment residence to serve an eviction notice
They were met with gun fire and a 25 year veteran of the organization and detective was hit and down
the suspect ran inside and barricaded himself in
the detective was extricated by other law enforcement and transported by medics to Harboviews Medical Center and is currently in critical condition in the ICU
A standoff ensued
Eventually law enforcement made entry and found the suspect dead
The Redmond Police department will lead the investigation as is protocol for outside agencies to take over deadly force use investigations
