About Annabelle Nwaokorie:
Annabelle is a second year PhD student in Systems Biology Ireland, in University College Dublin (UCD). Annabelle has a BSc in Physics with Medical Physics and Bioengineering and a MSc in Medical physics, where she was awarded a first class honours from both Technology University Dublin and National University of Ireland Galway, respectively. Annabelle started her PhD in September 2019, her discipline focuses on Cancer Research, in the field of bioinformatics and systems biology. Her project aims to use mathematical models to predict therapy response in patients with a specific type of Colorectal Cancer.
Annabelle started an Instagram page when she started her PhD to record and document her PhD journey. She started a “September Challenge” using the hashtag #thephdstudentchallenge which inspired many other academics and PhD students across the world to get productive for the new academic semester. The challenge started at 0 posts and finished with 1,433 posts. The challenge inspired many, and started a community where students can connect and be together during such challenging times.

About Meenakshi Suku:
Meenakshi Suku is a second year PhD student based in Trinity Centre for Biomedical Engineering in Trinity College Dublin. She is presently working towards making humanized cardiac tissue models in vitro. In addition to immune-assisted tissue engineering and in vitro disease modelling, her interests also include music, cooking and hiking!
