Armed and funded by Iran, they constitute the largest non-state army on the planet with some 50,000 foot soldiers, hundreds of thousands of rockets and thousands of drones. They can overwhelm Tel Aviv's Iron Dome air defences and hit critical targets anywhere in Israel.
