Mr. Manoj lives in Thissamaharama Sadungama in Hambantota district. Previously, he worked in South Korea as a polytunnel worker, gaining experience in polytunnel cultivation with new technology. A few years ago, he returned to Sri Lanka and started four polytunnels covering 20,000 square feet. He applied Korean new technology for these polytunnels, especially using coconut leaves for grow beds with organic growing media, without the use of grow bags. Root pruning technology was practically employed for this Muria Capsicum cultivation, yielding positive results, with guidance from Mr. Ruwan. This polytunnel was constructed using Korean technology, with brackets used instead of weldings to connect GI pipes. It is equipped with a fully automated drip irrigation and temperature-controlling system and is located in the Thissamaharam area.
