Amid the raging old pension vs new pension scheme debate, Finance Minister Nirmala has set up a panel to review the pension system for government employees. The panel formed by the centre will decide whether the existing framework and structure of the national pension scheme need changes or not. The panel will be headed by Finance Secretary T V Somanathan. Many non-ruled BJP states have already dumped the centre's new pension scheme.
