Keynote talk from The Campus Alliance for Advanced Visualization 2019 (CAAV19) held at Indiana University (IU) in Bloomington, Indiana.
Abstract: A survey of recent virtual reality projects from the Institute for Digital Intermedia Arts (IDIA Lab) at Ball State University will be presented as case studies illustrating diverse approaches and applications of spatialized media experiences.
IDIA Lab is engaged in the research and design of innovative experiences with immersive technologies across the arts, sciences, and humanities. Scholarly, creative, and pedagogical projects investigate immersive virtual reality, human computer interface, augmented reality, interactive installations, mobile apps, fulldome media, multi-user virtual worlds, visualization, and 3D simulation. The labs’ faculty, staff, and students develop projects in partnership with international clients in this innovative studio initiative, where they investigate the forefront of emergent design and learning.
