Dr. Gallo begins by providing background on fistula formation and its commonality in both the US and worldwide. She then reviews the conditions clinical features and diagnostic methods used for detection. Next, she moves on to discuss fistula management to include the likelihood of spontaneous healing, effectiveness of catheterization and fibrin sealants and surgical options. Dr. Gallo then concludes her lecture with proactive measures to prevent vesicovaginal fistulas from forming.
