This video demonstrates the Simulation of 3 Phase Fully Controlled Rectifier in PSIM (POWERSIM).

It consists of 6 thyristors connected to three-phase AC supply displaced by an angle of 120 degrees apart. Three separate sources are considered while simulating in MATLAB to understand it in a simple way. The firing angle considered in this design is 60 degrees. However, care has to be taken while entering them in MATLAB. Thyristors conduct when the amplitude of the supply is higher in comparison with the other thyristors. This circuit requires 6 thyristors for three-phase AC to DC conversion. It is also called a 6 pulse converter. It improves the ripple content in the output in comparison with 3 phase half wave controlled rectifier.
