Deadwood Restaurant & Wild West Theme Park is a family-owned spot in the Bear Grass community of Martin County, North Carolina, just outside Williamston. It started in 1989 as a backyard mini-golf course and grew into a Western-themed attraction, opening to the public in 1992 and adding a dance hall by 1994. Now, you can visit year-round with free admission to the western-themed town and restaurant, though there are fees for the rides. Before you go, check their website or call to see what’s open. You can ride the train around the property, which sometimes has special themes depending on the season. We visited in October and loved the Halloween-themed train ride.

When we were there in October 2025, the Dinosaur Canyon Coaster and mini-golf course were being worked on, but we think those will be popular when they reopen. They have a spot for live music in the center of the town, and you can grab food or drinks from the restaurant and relax while you listen. As a family with young kids, we also appreciated the great playground, which has plenty of seating nearby for parents. Deadwood is a fun, unique place for families looking for adventure and a bit of the Wild West in eastern North Carolina.
