Insignificant - Short Experimental Film

Описание к видео Insignificant - Short Experimental Film

Short experimental film for Semester 2 at Swinburne Uni.

Suffering from trauma, emotional abuse, and the idea that she is a hero for humanity, we see what it is like live through life with PTSD.

What is PTSD? It is a condition where one’s mind, when triggered, brings back memories of trauma accompanied by intense emotional and physical reactions. A girl, suffering from this, is reminded again and again of her own insignificance through her father and psychologists telling her she doesn’t matter, that she isn’t a hero trying to save the world, like she believes she is. Emotional reactions and a template of her mood is shown through visuals and the conundrum of sound, representing her inner mind and thinking’s. Insignificant, shows the visuality of one’s mind when dealing with trauma and depression.

Special thanks to Joseph Sullivan for supplying the voice over that I wrote, and for being a constant support during the process of this film in lockdown!

In memory of Damien the spider, who sadly died after the making of this film. He died doing what he loved; acting on camera.
