We had the world at our fingertips
Call us arrogant, call us silly kids
But ready we were
Looking back, it’s all a blur
Like another world
Behind these curtains
 
And for the first time I see more of the past
Then the grains that are left in the hourglass
I did not realize the weight of this burden
As I try to reach further
One thing seems certain
 
Mortality
Has a hold on me
 
And with every breath that escapes
I fade
Away
There is no need to entertain
 
These thoughts of reason
And as sure as the rain comes in season
When least expected
Let the elements test me
 
Beyond my strength and wits
Looks like another eclipse
Will manifest
I brace for impact
 
Cause I’m an innovative creative
Contemplative native
To the mountain ranges
Ever changing
Ever changing
