Land Rover Discovery 3 rear door repair /tailgate won't open

Описание к видео Land Rover Discovery 3 rear door repair /tailgate won't open

The reason the tailgate won't open is usually the rear door switch is faulty or the actuator in the lower tailgate is faulty. If you press the rear door switch and you don't hear the actuator, it's probably the rear door switch that's faulty. If you press and hold for 15 seconds the lock & unlock buttons on the dash and it opens the door it's just the switch. The switch can be prised out , there will be two wires at the back of it and the Freelander rear door switch will fit as a replacement. Just cut the two wires and join these to the two wires on the Freelander switch.

If you press the rear door switch and you hear the actuator and nothing happens, the actuator is faulty. It's a real nuisance because you have to prise off the carpet trim , push back the cover off the actuator and grab and pull the wire that releases the door lock. Small hands would be helpful hear but I found the hardest job was removing the carpet trim. Best of luck if this is your problem and I hope this video helps. Sorry for the quality but it was a last minute decision to record this on my phone just in case it helps someone else.
