This is the first lecture in a series of senior level undergraduate lectures on group dynamics that I created and have been teaching for many years. This lectures introduces the topic of group dynamics and gives great surface level information about the various topics that will be covered throughout the course. We'll explore what it means to be a group and what the different types of groups are. We will also look at what it means to be dynamic and what different elements contribute to the dynamic processes that make our social lives so complex and interesting.
