STIHL MS 400 C 42" BAR, BUCKING AND RIPPING

STIHL recommends a maximum 25" guide bar with this saw. 66.7cc and 5.4 bhp from the factory. I rate my personal saw @5.3 bhp. This video is for entertainment purposes only. Do not try this at home.

42" OREGON heavy-weight .63 gauge guide bar. Hand-ground STIHL RS chain 136 drive links .375 pitch.

The wood is American beech and rock maple I fell with an axe and relocated.

The running footage is not edited for speed and I have multiple cameras, one fitted with an analog pocket watch.

@4:38, lifting the log with the saw dogged in, it keeps pulling....

@9:18 I stop and start in a buck multiple times and pull hard with both hands on the tank handle at multiple times throughout the video. This saw cuts faster than 1 inch per second even with a 42" bar.

@12:06 I demonstrate the oil sling with the 42" OREGON guide bar.
