Recent Agri bills along with other steps by Govt can be transformative says S Sivakumar Head of ITC Agri Division. New guidelines for FPO will help farmers engage more with the markets. Additionally, the govt has allocated 1.75 lac cr for Agri and allied activities under the Atmanirbhar package over the next 4- years which will be a big positive. He sees 6-7 states taking steps to take forward the reforms which have been announced by govt in a proactive manner.

Digital engagement by govt for farmers in putting a new digital ecosystem for all stakeholders, he sees a fundamental transformation to take place as produce becomes market-driven and We Need to ensure that farming population adopts new ideas well. There are about 600 Agri - start ups working in the area of helping farmers, who adopt scientific methods of farming and other assistance according to him, he was in an exclusive chat with ET NOW's Ajaya Sharma.
