Long Pine Key Campground Tour & Everglades National Park (Full Time RV Living) 4K

We finally visited & stayed in the Everglades National Park. We did this as full time RVers and not when we lived in a “sticks & bricks” though we lived in Florida most of our lives. “Life” just got in the way back then.
Now with our home on wheels, we are seeing so much more, experiencing so much more, living and traveling in our Grand Design Solitude fifth wheel full time.

In this video, we not only show you the campground site by site of the RV area, we also show you the things to do close by Long Pine Key Campground, which is by the southern entrance of the Everglades National Park.

Signal in the campground: ATT was poor; we had to use our booster antenna. But people told us Verizon was decent.

ANHINGA TRAIL is located the Ernest F Coe Visitor Center area
It is a 0.8 mile loop on pavement and boardwalks

It is a 0.4 mile loop with moderate shade

Directions to Trail: Many trails start around the Long Pine Key Campground, 7 miles (11 km) from the main park entrance/Ernest Coe Visitor Center. You may also park on road shoulders near the gates where trails meet paved roads.
LONG PINE KEY TRAIL:
Trail Length: Over 22 miles (35 km) of connecting trails
Wheelchair Accessible: No
Bicycles Allowed: Yes (mountain bike for best ride)
Trail Description: Connecting trails through the Pinelands run 7 miles (11 km) west from the Long Pine Key campground to Pine Glades Lake along the main park road (was very wet when we were there)

Amenities: restrooms, cold showers, a dump station and fresh water fill-ups. All tent spaces are on a first come first serve and our campsite fees are as follows: $25 for regular campsites, $35 for group sites. Please call ahead for group and RV sites only as they are limited at Long Pine Key.
