Journalists across the U.S. have become popular punching bags for President Trump. His relationship with The New York Times has been especially contentious, with the President repeatedly calling The Times "failing" and "fake news" often in response to stories he does not like.

Documentary filmmaker Liz Garbus embedded with The Times for the past year to show what the front lines of journalism under the Trump administration really look like. Broadly sat down with Garbus to discuss her new docuseries, The Fourth Estate, which gives an intimate and exclusive look into the men and women fighting for freedom of the press in order to cover a president who is set on discrediting them.
