Roots of complex numbers and exponentials | Linear Algebra MATH1141 | N J Wildberger

Finding roots of complex numbers is geometrically much richer, even if we can only accomplish such approximately. In this lecture we show how exponential polar coordinates reveals the pleasant 2D geometry involved, in in the special case when we want to solve z^n=1.

The cases n=1,2,3,4 and 5 are all explicitly dealt with, and we try to illustrate the geometrical significance of the algebra by playing with GeoGebra.
