David Crawford, an accomplished flutist, arranger, composer, and producer based in Las Vegas, Nevada, reinvents himself as a leading artist with Africa Nouveau Re-Mix. The track blends smooth jazz sophistication with Afrocentric rhythms, global textures, and contemporary groove, creating a sound that feels both culturally rich and forward-thinking. Having arranged music for legendary R&B artists including Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, Mary J. Blige, Bill Withers, René & Angela, Bobby Womack, and Confunkshun, David Crawford now turns the focus inward to shape his own musical legacy. He wrote, produced, and performed Africa Nouveau, showcasing his evolution from behind-the-scenes architect to center-stage artist.

In addition to his arranging work, Crawford is an accomplished producer and composer. He produced Vesta Williams’ Billboard R&B Top 10 hit “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” along with multiple tracks for the R&B group Woods Empire. His career also includes recording with Ahmad Jamal and The Temptations, as well as performing alongside Stevie Wonder and Isaac Hayes. In orchestral settings, Crawford has performed with the Afro-American Chamber Music Society Orchestra, Santa Monica Symphony Orchestra, and the Burbank Philharmonic Orchestra.

Africa Nouveau Re-Mix represents a bold, confident chapter in David Crawford’s journey, celebrating heritage, rhythm, and innovation. He plans to release additional singles ahead of his debut album, Something Borrowed, Something New.
