S30 has better battery, modern android, Qualcomm processor, hardware keys and waterproof usb and headphone sockets even without covers. I don't know what CAT has done with the inferior glass use but the new S30 scratches like a piece of fine china.
Great loud sound and reception, everything works, great battery life. I haven't really exposed it to abuse, so I can't vouch for the durability - but it feels like a Jeep and I like the grip-friendly chunkiness. It is not as heavy as one expect when seeing it first.

The only complaints I have is that the power button is a bit sensitive - it activates at light pressure, like when grabbing the phone in the pocket.
