This 1998 Opel Astra G was dead in the water. The engine control unit (ECU) completely failed, and as I explain in the video, these specific units are notoriously difficult to repair because the circuitry is mounted directly on ceramic. A true nightmare scenario!

But where others see a dead end, we see a challenge. A standard replacement won't work without the vehicle's unique password — the "Car Pass". So how do you get it from a car that won't communicate? You go straight to the source.
