Kochi, a scenic port city in Kerala, is making bold strides towards sustainable mobility and cleaner air - with an impressive fleet of electric vehicles spanning its roads, rails, and even waterways. Kochi is not just adopting electric mobility, it's experimenting with a multimodal, sustainable future. From e-buses to the first Water Metro, Kochi is testing a bold new model of transport. But is it really working, and can it survive the climate crisis?

As part of the How India Moves campaign, Down To Earth’s multimedia team travelled to Kochi to explore how electric mobility is reshaping the city. From the metro and e-buses to the water metro and e-autos, we looked at how well these clean transport options are integrated and what that means for commuters and the environment.
