This is a play-through using Geki in an alternate Arcade version of Street Fighter 1. Read on below for more information...

This is an alternative version of the Arcade game Street Fighter 1 which allows the player to select the enemy/boss characters.

Geki is the second Japanese enemy opponent. He is a non-selectable character in the normal version of the game.

===== About Geki =====
Geki is a Japanese ninja who wields a hand claw, uses Shurikens and is able to teleport. His stage background consists of a meadow overlooking a large lake, from which Mount Fuji can be seen.

Despite the similarity in the hand claw and the use of the martial art Ninjutsu, there is no official relation to Vega (so far).

Gameplay-wise, his Shuriken projectiles are very useful for keeping the opponent at bay. His basics are somewhat poor though. The Teleport isn't as good as you think it is - it is programmed in a way where after he vanishes, he reappears CLOSER to the opponent from the original spot he vanished from. This puts him under pressure straight away, especially against aggressive opponents.

===== Geki Trivia =====

---- Speculative-wise, it is possible that Geki may have trained or inspired Vega in the martial art of Ninjutsu, due to the hand claw weapon. Also according to Vega's story, he went to Japan to study the martial art.

---- Design-wise, Geki's concept may have evolved to or inspired Ibuki's and Vega's designs.

---- Geki is one of the 5 characters of SF1 who has not made an appearance in any future SF game.

---- Geki is the first character to be able to teleport in the SF series.

---- Geki is one of the first two characters in the Street Fighter series to wield a weapon. The other character is Eagle.

---- According to reports, Geki was considered as a playable character in the arcade version of Street Fighter: The Movie. However, the developers wanted to make the character female instead. In the end, the idea/character was scrapped.

---- In Street Fighter X Tekken, Geki's costume is used for Lars Alexandersson's Swap Costume.

===== Additional Information =====

---- In this version of the game, most of the enemie's / bosse's "special moves" are performed by holding Down or Down-Back or Down-Forward and then pressing a [P] or [K] button. Interestingly, this indicates that the enemy jumping strikes are a set routine/move, instead of a free move during jumping. It also explains why you cannot perform any strikes while jumping with them.

---- Despite selecting the enemy characters, the portrait of Ryu (1P) or Ken (2P) is always used for the versus screens.

---- When playing as an enemy character, after you win a round, the winning text will still say that Ryu or Ken won the round.

---- You can still play the 'break-the-boards' bonus games as an enemy character. However the enemy characters often do not have sufficient moves to reach/break all the boards.

---- Obviously the other bonus game where you time the karate chop will always be Ryu or Ken.

---- When you complete the game with an enemy character, it will still use Ryu's or Ken's portraits for the "king of the hill" victory message.

===== About Street Fighter =====
This is where it all began. Who would've thought that this game would develop into a sequel that ended up setting the tone for virtually all other future fighting games?
