Develop Livelihood Strategies in Keta through Co-design Process is an action project of INSPIRASI Indonesian Young Leaders Programme. This project targeted vulnerable youth in rural area of Maluku, Indonesia that are facing economic difficulties and focused on building their capacity to have a livelihood strategy that hopefully will reduce economic vulnerability. This project used co-design as the core activity which allows the opportunity to innovate, being adaptive with the problem, and most importantly it has the core value of community participation.

The co-design process resulting in the prototype in a form of a business unit group called SARLALAN. In Keta's language SARLALAN means open the way. This group focuses on maximizing the natural resources in the village. This business unit has 3 main priorities: Agriculture (gardening/planting vegetables), clove & nutmeg nursery, processed products to market.

This story is telling the process of creating Sarlalan through a participatory process of co-design as one of the initiatives in Keta village to overcome complex issue of rural development.
