জুলাই মাসে পোশাক শিল্পের রফতানি আয় বেড়েছে সাড়ে ২৪ শতাংশের বেশি। যা গেল বছরের অক্টোবরের পর সর্বোচ্চ। এসময় প্রায় ৪ বিলিয়ন ডলারের পোশাক রফতানি করেছেন উদ্যোক্তারা। মার্কিন শুল্ক ইস্যুতে টালমাটাল বিশ্ববাজারে এমন উচ্চ প্রবৃদ্ধির কারণ হিসেবে, পরিবেশবান্ধব বিনিয়োগ আর চাহিদা উপযোগী পণ্য তৈরির সক্ষমতাকে সামনে রাখছেন রফতানিকারকরা। যদিও চট্টগ্রাম বন্দরের 'ধীরগতির' কার্যক্রম রফতানি বাজার সম্প্রসারণে নতুন বাধা হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে বলে দাবি বিজিএমইএ'র।

The garment industry's export earnings increased by more than 24.5 percent in July. This is the highest since October last year. During this period, entrepreneurs exported garments worth about $4 billion. Exporters are citing environmentally friendly investments and the ability to produce demand-oriented products as the reasons for such high growth in the turbulent global market due to the US tariff issue. However, the BGMEA claims that the 'slow' activities of the Chittagong Port have become a new obstacle to expanding the export market.
