Many people either for Visual Astronomy or Astrophotography often focus on the planets, galaxies and other astrological objects. While these are amazing objects to look at, we often forget that the Sun is the closest star to us and can observed with the right equipment.

It can produce extraordinary photos and images. The sun is an amazing object to observe, it is as active as any planet and has exciting things for us to see. Watch the video to learn why it's worth the effort to observe the Sun.

Remember though the Sun should never be looked at directly with your own eyes. It will cause massive eye damage if done so. It should only be looked at through a Solar Telescope, a visual aide (DSLR, binoculars, telescope) with a filter designed for solar observation or during a total solar eclipse (when the moon completely covers the sun).
