What Causes Ear Pain?

Описание к видео What Causes Ear Pain?

What causes ear pain? Let's talk about the ear anatomy first. The ear acts as a funnel. The sound goes down it, it vibrates the eardrum, vibrates these little bones in here called the ossicles, and then the sound goes into the cochlea where it goes via nerve to your brain. So if you have an infection here in your ear, you can have pain.

But usually if you have an infection in here, in the middle ear or in the outer ear, you're probably gonna have drainage. Meaning stuffs gonna come out of your ear. More times, you actually have pain in this thing called the eustachian tube. The eustachian tube is a tube that connects your ears to the back of your nose.

So if you have swelling and congestion in your nose, this tube called the eustachian tube is gonna have issues. And it's gonna feel like when you're going up on an airplane, or it's gonna feel like when your ears are clogged and you feel a little dizzy, and you'll even feel like maybe you're having trouble hearing. Anyways,

fixing your allergies or your sinus issues can actually improve your ear pain. And then if your ear pain is associated with drainage, it might be an ear infection. And lastly, sometimes your jaw joint, which is right in front of your ear, can get inflamed, and that can cause ear pain. Usually that's ear pain on both sides.
