Cash for Cod (Fishing Competition at King Ash Bay)

It's the ultimate showdown — Codfather vs. Codmaster.

We're out in the wilds of the Northern Territory, deep in the southwest corner of the Gulf of Carpentaria, at the tiny township of King Ash Bay Fishing Club.

The club hosts several competitions each year, but this one has got me fired up. The prize? Five hundred bucks for the biggest cod. And believe me, I know me way around a cod.

Now, Barramundi may be the star attraction in these waters, but they’re a fickle catch. I’ve had my share of disappointments chasing those silver slabs. But when it comes to cod? There’s always one ready to put up a fight every day of the week.
